Prenatal Playground is a 12-week, 1:1 virtual prenatal movement coaching program.


It’s simple, custom movement recommendations combined with ongoing support, designed to grow with you as you progress.

  • Initial 75 min intake session with in-depth postural alignment analysis, and together we develop your custom plan

  • Ongoing support via chat: for reminders, pointers, troubleshooting form, and celebration

  • Optional group chat with other pregnant people in the program: to share wins, commiserate, laugh at how cute your dog is being while you stretch, and cheer each other on.

  • 2 60 minute followup sessions, where we reassess your alignment after the progress you’ve made, and start to fine tune as you get closer to 40 weeks.

Hey! I’m Kate…

I’ve been a birth worker since 2015! First as a home birth midwife’s assistant, then as a doula and yoga teacher. These days you can also find me on Labor & Delivery as a Registered Nurse. I’m a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator and I’m certified in Body Ready Method®: an approach that combines exercise science with physiologic birth.

As a certified BRM® pro, I use this framework to support clients in their birth goals, to create balanced and aligned posture, and move through the world in a strong and functional way.

Movement practice, especially yoga, dance, trail running, and strength training, are huge parts of my life and they keep my brain + spirit happy! In nursing school, exercise was a break from the grind and I’d say to myself, ‘Let’s go play outside’ when it was time to close the books and move. That spirit is what’s behind Prenatal Playground.

FAQs

Is this like prenatal yoga?

It’s similar! You’ll receive a simple set of movements (3ish) to weave into your day, whether it’s when you wake up, getting ready for bed, or when you need a break from your desk. If you’re looking for more of a ‘class’ format where you dedicate 20min-1hr to flow in different moves, I highly recommend BRM’s Prenatal program, with custom flows for each week of pregnancy. I have a special discount code, shoot me a DM for it! This program, combined with your 1-1 custom moves, is simply chef’s kiss.

Can I keep running or lifting?

Great question. The latest research says YES! If you have an established thang, keep going! I recommend introducing something uniquely geared towards pregnancy as well. Imagine tying a kettlebell to your waist and walking around like that all day. Everything about your form changes. The good news is, the weight increases gradually.

Can I use these moves in labor?

YES! Ideally, our work together will progress over time. At your initial assessment, we might work on aligning the hips and upper body mobility (Yes, it matters for birth! It’s allllll connected, baby!) At your next appointment, look at that! Your hips are aligned. Let’s focus on releasing the psoas and supporting the nervous system. By the time you get close to birth, we’ll be fine tuning the finishing touches & supporting fetal positioning and engagement, and these moves are perfect for early labor.

What if I have an injury?

This is one of the best reasons to work with a 1-1 assessment! All injuries create compensation patterns, so training alignment prenatally is THE PERFECT TIME. You’ll not only lessen the chances of pregnancy discomfort, support a smoother birth and quicker recovery, but also decrease the chances of re-injury beyond pregnancy.
